Based in Carbondale, CO, Maddie is a professional oil & encaustic painter.
Maddie began oil painting at the age of 12. Originally from Atlanta, GA, she received her undergraduate degree in Visual Arts from Columbia University School of the Arts. While in school, she was awarded a merit scholarship to attend the Aegean Center for Fine Arts in Paros, Greece. There, Maddie studied classical oil painting, figure drawing, and painting in en plein air. In addition to her classical oil painting training, she studied contemporary art at The Oxbow School in Napa Valley, CA. Later, she was invited back to Oxbow to teach, as their youngest teacher ever in residence. After graduating from Columbia, Maddie moved to Colorado to explore the landscape and pursue her love of painting en plein air. She now lives in Carbondale, CO, where she works as an advertising executive.
